Tributes paid to martyrs of Zarb-e-Azb
Pakistan Muslim League-Quaid-e-Azam leader Chaudhry Shafay Hussain has doled out shields to families of army jawans who died in the current military offensive.
The operation code named Zarb-e-Azb was launched on June 15, 2014 in North Waziristan along the Pakistan-Afghanistan border as a renewed effort against militancy in the wake of the June 8 attack on the Jinnah International Airport in Karachi.
The dead jawans were part of a force containing 30,000 soldiers who are involved in the two-year operation to flush out all foreign and local militants hiding in North Waziristan. On the shield-giving occasion on Monday, the party leader said, "The entire nation is grateful to the army for writing chapters of chivalry, courage, commitment and determination in the Operation Zarb-e-Azb."
