Rangers' raid at MQM headquarters to restore peace is positive step
ISLAMABAD: Chairman Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Imran Khan on Thursday said Rangers' raid at Muttahida Qaumi Movement( MQM) headquarters was a positive step for restoration of peace in Karachi.
Talking to media after meeting with Chairman NADRA in-connection with verification of voters in NA 122, he said.
"The Rangers operation is sign of change for Karachi, it came late but a welcome step towards a free Karachi".
Imran Khan said Rangers operation would lead to freedom of citizens of Karachi from politics of terrorism. " Karachi will once again become the city of lights".
He alleged that MQM workers were involved in the killing of Zahra Aapa and Wali Babar but witness in such crimes could not come forward due to intimidation and lack of security.
Imran Khan demanded disbandment of political parties involved in keeping illegal weapons and patronizing criminals.
He said such criminals should also be tried in the Special Courts established for dealing with terrorism.
Replying to a question, he said he was not campaigning for NA 122 for personal gains. " I won three other constituencies but we want to make an example of NA-122 for future elections".
He said PTI had no doubt in NADRA's capacities to verify thumbprint as long as they act independently.
All rigging allegations would be proved in a month, he claimed.
