Economy put on road to progress: PM

ISLAMABAD: Prime Minister Muhammad Nawaz Sharif Tuesday said his government has put Pakistan on the road to progress through its objective policies.

Addressing the MNAs of Faisalabad division, who called on him here at the PM house, the Prime Minister hoped that with the improvement of law and order situation, Pakistan will start moving ahead on the path of development, at a rapid pace.

He, however said that despite the law and order situation the economic indicators of the present government were positive and it was being recognized by the world community as well.

"We need to guide the youth so that they can use the loan efficiently and effectively," the Prime Minister said.

He said most of the applicants of the youth scheme have requested for loan in agriculture sector, which was a sign of the booming agriculture industry in Pakistan.

The Prime Minister said the GSP plus status to Pakistan was a special incentive to the textile industry of Faisalabad and they can benefit from it. But in order to benefit from the GSP plus Status power shortage needs to be resolved the Prime Minister said and added steps have been taken to resolve the matter.

The Prime Minister said he was aware of the problems of mass transit in Faisalabad and said a Metro Bus System has been planned for the city.
