Govt to overcome terrorism, energy crisis: Khawaja Asif
ISLAMABAD: Federal Minister for Defence, Water and Power Khawaja Muhammad Asif has said that Prime Minister Mian Nawaz Sharif has very much concerned to solve the challenges including terrorism, energy confronted by the country. He convinced for maintaining law and order situation to enhance economic stability.
Khawaja Asif said that terrorist wants to tarnish the soft image of the country at the international level and to discourage the business and investment activities in the country.
Talking to a private TV channel, he said that terrorism and energy crisis were big challenges for the government which would be resolved on priority basis.
The minister said that past dictatorial regime had created these problems and he hoped that present government would make the country prosperous.
He said that Musharaf case would be handled according to constitution of the country, adding that no one is above the law.
Khawaja said that the government is in favor of dialogue with Taliban but first they should stop terrorist activities because dual policy would not be tolerated any more.
He strongly condemned the recent terrorist attacks on armed and civil citizens.
Replying to a question about missing persons, he said that the government presented many missing persons before the courts and was also making legislation in this regard as per court orders.
No one is in favor of terrorists and the government is fully committed to eradicate the terrorism from the country, he maintained.
Khawaja said that the government is working for the supremacy of the law and would maintain peace throughout the country.
