48 suspects arrested during an operation in Rawalpindi
RAWALPINDI: Rawalpindi police arrested forty-eight suspects during raids, following RA Bazar blast which killed 14 people including seven security men.
According to RPO Rawalpindi Akhtar Umer Hayat Lalika, the search operation was conducted in the areas of Fauji Colony, Ziaul Haq Colony, Bangash Colony, Gali Loharan and other surrounding areas.
At first, police arrested more then 80 suspects but after interrogating, 48 suspects were took into custody.
Police also confiscated a car during the operation.
It is relevant to mention that this blast took place at RA Bazar which killed 14 persons including seven security men on Monday morning.
The Tehreek-e-Taliban (TTP) owned the responsibility of this blast, as well as the blast which occurred in Bannu, which killed 26 soldiers and left 20 injured.
Later in the evening, the police arrested Zahir Khan from the surrounding area. He sustained injuries but refused to go to the hospital. Consequently, he was arrested by the RA Bazar police and shifted to DHQ Hospital for medical treatment.
