KARACHI: The Rabita Committee of Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM) has said that a day will be observed on Jan 18 to pay homage to the martyred SP CID Chaudhry Aslam and his colleagues.

Floral wreaths will be laid at the location on the Lyari Expressway where the unfortunate incident took place and a candle light vigil will also be held to pay tribute to the martyred police officers, said a statement issued by MQM on Thursday.

The Rabita Committee appealed to members of the civil society, lawyers, and general public to arrive at the place of martyrdom of Chaudhry Aslam on Jan 18 at 5 pm and pay tribute to him.

The Rabita Committee also appealed to the police officers and men to pay tribute to their martyred colleagues and express determination that they would also exhibit same courage and bravery for the country.

The Rabita Committee said that Chaudhry Aslam and his colleagues had laid their lives while defending the country against terrorists and the entire nation salutes them.
