KARACHI: A blast was heard near Numaish Chawrangi, M.A. Jinnah Road.

The blast occurred during the procession of Imam Hussain's (AS) Chelum.

According to the sources and witnesses, the blast was colossal. The bomb was planted with an electricity poll. It exploded at the time when people in the Chehlum were about to attend Namaz-e- Zohrain. The electricity poll was damaged but no injuries and death tolls were reported.

Rescue teams reached to the place immediately.

According to the sources, the route from which the Chehlum procession has to pass after Namaez-e-Zohrain and where the blast occurred is being checked again by the Bomb Disposal Squad.

According to Bomb Disposal Squad, this bomb was not planted with the electricity poll but it was fixed in a motor cycle. Security check is still in process. Yet, no specific and elaborated details have been provided.
