Mohsin predicts Shahzad to be one leading batsmen after slight improving

ISLAMABAD: Former Chief Selector and Test player Mohsin Hassan Khan has said that Ahmad Shahzad had every ability to become one of the leading batsmen in current cricket if he further improve his defense and adds more patience to his batting.

Talking to a TV channel, Mohsin said Shahzad had improved his batting technique a lot, however, he needs to be more patient at the crease.

"The right-handed opener has got all the shots in his book and constructs his innings in an excellent way," he added.

Mohsin further said if Shahzad remained disciplined on the ground he could become one of the best batsman Pakistan had ever produced.

It is pertinent to mention that Shahzad scored 81 off 89 balls with 6 boundaries and 2 maximum in the third ODI against Sri Lanka at Sharjah, giving his team an excellent start.

The former Chief Selector, while praising Umar Gull said the bowling line of the national team, had definitely strengthened after the inclusion of the fast bowler.

He said the team was in need of players like Umar Gull who play with sincerity.

Mohsin said Muhammad Hafeez played a fine and responsible inning, adding, there was a game plan in Pakistan's batting which should be appreciated.

He, however, criticized the T20 skipper's poor running between the wickets that cost Pakistan a lot of damage every now and then.

The former player urged the team management to include Anwar Ali in the remaining two ODIs so that he could prove his skills.

"He should be given a proper chance as being 12th man in every match will lower Anwar's confidence," Mohsin added.
