QUETTA: Chief Justice Iftikhar Muhammad Chaudhry slammed Frontier Constabulary (FC) and Intelligence agencies, held them responsible for the abduction and killing of people in Balochistan, Aaj news reported.

The Supreme Court on Monday resumed the hearing of a petition on the law and order situation and human rights violations in Balochistan at Quetta registry.

A three-judge bench of the apex court, comprising Chief Justice Iftikhar Muhammad Chaudhry, Justice Khilji Arif Hussain and Justice Jawwad S. Khawaja, was hearing the petition filed by the Balochistan Bar Association on the law and order situation in Pakistan’s largest province.

During today’s hearing, Advocate General Balochistan Amanullah Kanrani informed the court that “four out of 135 missing persons had been recovered”.

On this occasion CJ remarked that we have no answer to give to the people, we ourselves feeling ashamed. Continuing he asked the AG to take the list of 135 missing persons and give compensations to their family members. Only four persons were recovered, which means you are not serious, CJ remarked.

CJ asked Balochistan home minister to give in writing that you cannot control the situation.

Advocate General replied that none could assure in writing hundred percent recovery of missing persons.
