Five shot dead including KESC officer in Karachi
KARACHI: At least five persons including an officer of Karachi Electric Supply Company (KESC) and a doctor were shot dead by unidentified gunmen in different areas of the city late last night and on Tuesday morning.
Deputy General Manager of the KESC Ali Imran Jaffery was killed as the gunmen started firing on his car in North Nazimabad area near Saifi College around 9.30a.m today when he was going to the office from his residence Federal B. Area Karachi.
The deceased was head of the KESC North Nazimabad IBC Operations. Police reached at the scene soon after his killing and started investigation. Jafferi’s body was sent to Abbasi Shaheed Hospital for postmortem.
Meanwhile, a shopkeeper Siraj, 35, was gunned down at Jahangir Road No 2 while another Aqil, 35, was shot dead after kidnapping by unidentified gunmen in Surjani Town at around 8.00a.m.
Bodies of both the deceased persons were shifted to Abbasi Shaheed Hospital.
Meanwhile, unidentified armed men shot dead Dr Qudratullah near Lea Market last night around 11.00p.m While Shiraz Baloch who was abducted from Bihar Colony of Lyari area was found from Gul Mohammad Line in critical condition. He was shifted to Civil Hospital for treatment.
In yet another incident, body of an ASI Traffic Police Adil son of Sher Muhammad, 40, was found from a house 272 Sector-H, Manzoor Colony Karachi late last night. He had bullet wounds on the body.
