Ministers keep old positions in Federal cabinet, notification issued

ISLAMABAD: Majority of the members were assigned their old positions in the new federal cabinet and a notification has also been issued in the regard, Aaj news reported.

The Ministry for Finance was retained by Dr Abdul Hafeez Sheikh , Information Ministery was assigned to Qamar Zaman Kaira, Dr Arbab Alamgir Khan got Communications Ministry and  Haji Ghulam Ahmad Bilour was made Minister for Railways.
Haji Khuda Bakhsh Rajar was given Ministry for Anti- Narcotics, Mir Hazar Khan Bijarani was once again made the Minister for Inter-provincial coordination, Rana Mohammad Farooq Saeed Khan got the Ministry for Environmental change and  Syed Naveed Qamar was made the Minister for Defence. Pervaiz Ellahi was handed over two portfolios: Industries and Defence Production.
Earlier, President Asif Ali Zardari Friday administered oath to the 38 members Federal Cabinet comprising 27 federal ministers and 11 ministers of state at the Aiwan-e-Sadr.
The oath taking ceremony was attended by newly elected Prime Minister Raja Pervaiz Ashraf, Chairman Senate Nayer Hussain Bokhari, Speaker National Assembly Dr Fehmida Mirza, members of the parliament and senior government officials.
Those who took oath as Federal Minister included, Makhdoom Amin Faheem, Dr Abdul Hafeez Shaikh, Nazar Muhammad Gondal, Haji Khuda Buksh Rajar, Dr Mohammad Farooq Sattar, Senator Maula Buksh Chandio, Mian Mohammad Manzoor Wattoo, Mir Changez Khan Jamali, Syed Khursheed Ahmed Shah, Mir Hazar Khan Bijarani, Senator Babar Khan Ghori, Haji Ghulam Ahmed Bilour, Mir Israrullah Zehri, Senator Farooq H. Naek, Dr Arbab Alamgir Khan, Qamar Zaman Kaira, Chaudhry Pervaiz Ellahi (senior minister), Makhdoom Shahabuddin, Syed Naveed Qamar, Farzana Raja, Eng. Shaukat Ullah, Chaudhry Ahmed Mukhtar, Rana Mohammad Farooq Saeed Khan, Mrs Sameena Khalid Gurki, Dr Firdous Ashiq Awan and Sardar Alhaj Muhammad Omar Gorgeig.
Those who took oath as Minister of State included, Sardar Saleem Haider Khan, Muazzam Ali Jatoi, Malik Azmat Khan, Syed Samsam Ali Bukhari, Tasneem Ahmed Qureshi, Dr Nadeem Ahsan, Nawabzada Malik Amaad Khan, Abbas Khan Afridi, Chaudhry Imtiaz Safdar Warraich, Dost Mohammad Mazari and Ms. Raheela Baloch.
