India want Pakistan to push 26/11 case: Krishna

BEIJING: External Affairs Minister SM Krishna want Pakistan to move forward and act against the accused in Mumbai 26/11 attacks, reported Indian media.

After returning from Shanghai Summit where Krishna had an informal meeting with Pakistan President Asif Ali Zardari, he said "I find that there is total warmth from President Asif Ali Zardari's side. At the same time, we should keep reminding Pakistan that it is necessary that Pakistan should get the cases which were filed against the alleged conspirators accelerated,".

Previously, India had claimed Lashkar-e-Taiba founder Hafiz Saeed as mastermind of the Mumbai attacks and want his immediate custody but Pakistan's Interior Minster (Interior Advisor), Rehman Malik refused to do so and said that Pakistan will act against him if found any evidences of his involvement.

Before the start of the secretary-level talks last month (May), Indian Home Secretary RK Singh expressed dissatisfaction over Pakistan’s investigation into the Mumbai attacks and said that many of those involved in the incident have not been brought to courts yet.

Besides, Pakistan want the probe into 2007 bombing of the Samjhauta Express in which 60 Pakistanis were killed but India was of the view that 2008 Mumbai attacks should not be equated with the 2007 bombing of the Samjhauta Express train.

Indian Home Secretary RK Singh during his visit to Pakistan said, The assault on Mumbai was an incident of cross-border terrorism while the train bombing had occurred within India. Indian authorities had arrested and charge-sheeted those responsible for the bombing of the Samjhauta Express.
