CHICAGO: Honda’s luxury brand Acura will recall nearly 53,000 vehicles in the United States to fix a problem with the power steering, the Japanese automaker said.

Honda said in a statement that, “Over time, the power steering hose may deteriorate and develop a fluid leak”.

“Leaking power steering fluid could lead to loss of power steering assistance or, if it leaks onto a catalytic converter it may result in smoke, or in the worst case, fire”. No crashes, injuries or fires have been reported as a result of the defect, said Honda.
