Missing Persons Case: SC calls upon CM Aslam Raisani

The Balochistan law and order case hearing began yesterday, under a three-member bench of the Supreme Court, headed by Chief Justice Iftikhar Muhammad Chaudhry, at the Quetta registry.

On Wednesday, The Supreme Court had called upon the CM Balochistan, Aslam Raisani, to appear before the court regarding the law and order of Balochistan case.

During the proceedings, the bench expressed its disappointment in the provincial government's effort to recover the missing persons of Balochistan.

Cheif Justice of Pakistan, Chaudhry Iftikhar said that if Balochistan government is helpless, it doesn’t mean that the court is also incapable.

He said that the CM has been summoned in the wake of his government's failure in improving the law and order situation of Balochistan.

He remarked that despite of a number of intelligence agencies operating in Balochistan, the federation has not been able to take the situation under their control.

The CJ summoned sector incharge of the Inter Services Intel (ISI), saying if the Prime Minister can appear before the court, why can't an ISI personnel.

AG Balochistan informed the court that a meeting was called to review the recovery mission of missing Baloch people. To which Justice Khilji said, that people are suffering for their lives while your meetings seem no where close to a conclusion.
