The ongoing operation in Lyari has entered its sixth day today. In a rocket attack on Cheel Chowk, Pakistani boxer Javed Khan was injured.

After the attacks, the police and the gangsters have been exchanging fire in brief intervals.

The renowned Pakistani international boxer Javed Khan was distributing basic need items like food and water to people, when a rocket seared towards him. Launched from an unidentified location, the rocket injured him and others around him.

Late last night a policemen was killed while 8 others suffered severe injuries in similar rocket attacks.

A heavy deployment of police and FC still remains in notorious areas of Lyari.

The police have claimed control over Afshani Gali and Nuwan Line area of Lyari as they still face hardships from the Cheel Chowk area of Lyari, which is the stronghold of Lyari gangsters and still remains under their control.
