Rehman Malik directs to block Cellular service in Battle field lyari
KARACHI: The federal Interior Minister Rehman Malik directed to block the cellular service in lyari to cut off the communication between the criminals and gangsters inside the area, Aaj news reported.
The operation in Lyari continued for the fifth day here on Tuesday.
According to our correspondent Taha obaidi, A policeman was killed earlier today in a rocket attack at Cheel Chowk, lyari. While 10 other people got injured in a hand grenade attack.
The injured were identified as Muhammad Usman, Muhammad Yousaf, Muhammad Hakim, Ahmed Salah, Muhammad Aslam, Nawaz khan, Hammed, Malkan khan, and others.
The operation in lyari went on since last Friday, due to which residents of the area confined to their homes.
Police have entered the areas of Gul Muhammad and Saifi lains today but they faced great retaliation from the criminals.
According to some other reports, Gangsters are using Walkie- talkies for the communication instead of mobile phones.
On Monday, Police intercepted a convoy of relief goods including food, water and medicines that was on way to Lyari to provide emergency relief to the besieged people there.
The relief convoy arranged by Jamaat-e-Islami (JI) Karachi was loaded on trucks and consisted of ration bags, wheat flour, rice, cooking oil, beans and legumes, sugar, dried food and bottled water. Ambulances of Al-Khidmat Foundation along with doctors, paramedics were also the part of relief convoy.
The police told that, nobody is allowed to enter in lyari for security purpose.
