Lyari: Operation enters day three; arrest warrant for Aman committee chief
As the Lyari operation enters  its third day, Sindh Home Ministry issued arrest warrants for 8 people including the notorious Uzair Baloch, Aziz Baloch, Zafar Baloch, Taj Mohammad a.k.a 'Ustad Taju' and Noor Mohammad aka 'Babu Ladla', on Sunday, Aaj News reported.
Orders have been released for the capture of these men, dead or alive.
After much restraint from the criminal elements last night, the police finally took control of 'Afshaani Gali' which was the stronghold of Lyari's criminals.
During the operation yesterday, 8 people were killed including SHO Fawad Khan.
The martyred SHO's body is being moved to his native village in KP, where he will be laid to rest.
After the news of SHO Fawad Khan's death, the operation gained momentum and the police force entered the criminal stronghold areas of Gabol Park and Afshani Gali.
The operation is headed by SSP CID Aslam Chaudhry. During the operation the police shot and killed a man named Sohail, who is said to be Lyari's infamous gangster Mulla Ansar's brother.
SSP Aslam Chaudhry said that his men are fighting the criminal elements with honor and courage and that soon people of Karachi and Lyari will hear a good news.
Talking to Aaj news on Saturday, SSP CID Chaudhry Aslam assured that the forces will take control of the areas soon and the operation is likely to be completed within the next 24 hours.
Speaking about progress of Lyari operation, IG Sindh Mushtaq Shah said the Lyari operation will soon be completed successfully and Lyari will be clean and pure of any criminal elements in the coming days.
Squads of elite forces have been deployed in different areas of Lyari to tackle the criminals.
The Lyari Operation has entered its third day today while ordinary residents of Lyari remain confined in their homes, absent basic necessities like food, water and electricity.
