Will not allow PML-N for any unconstitutional move: Qaim

KARACHI: Sindh Chief Minister, Syed Qaim Ali Shah, has flayed the statement of PML-N chief Mian Nawaz Sharif, that he (Nawaz) does not recognise the Prime Minister and  threatens to resort to protest as well as long march.

He was addressing a press conference at the CM House here on Friday night along with the provincial minister.

Qaim Ali Shah was of the view that the final judgement was pending with the Supreme Court but before that it was improper to give opinion that there was disqualification and  he (Nawaz Sharif) does not recognise the Prime Minister.

The CM exhorted the PML-N to look into the democratic values and avoid any stance in haste as they cannot derive any benefit but such acts can be harmful for the country.

Chief Minister Sindh also stated that there was a provision for appeal in the SC case.

He said that Prime Minister Syed Yusuf Raza Gilani is quite popular and has delivered and has served the people for more than four years and has also fulfilled the commitment of  Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) with the masses.

Qaim Ali Shah thanked the allied parties for extending support in a difficult situation like in the past. He thanked chief of Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM), Altaf Hussain and Awami National Party (ANP) leader Asfandar Yar Wali. He also thanked Pakistan Muslim League-Functional (PML-F) and PML-Q.

Replying tp a question, he said that if one is talking of resort to an act  violative of law then we have the right to take action in accordance with the law.

Qaim Ali Shah said that we will move ahead in accordance with the Constitution and the law as well as democratic values.

To another question, he said that Mian Nawaz Sharif has not given any reason and  at once said that the Prime Minister is disqualified and that he does not recognise the prime ministership and the cabinet.

Sindh Chief Minister said that we are democratic and have rendered sacrifices for the democracy.

For the cause of democracy, rule of law, rights of the people and Constitution, Shaheed Zulfikar Ali Bhutto, Shaheed Mohtarma Benazir Bhutto and the workers of PPP have given sacrifices.

Qaim Ali Shah said we have not come to the power through back doors and have fulfilled democratic and constitutional provisions.

The election of the President and the Prime Minister was carried out in accordance with the constitution and democratic values.

Chief Minister said that in the election the Prime Minister got unanimous vote which means he has the confidence of the entire Assembly and the 180 million people of the country.

It is a constitutional requirement that he should serve the full five years' term.
