ISLAMABAD: Supreme Court rejected the report of Interior Ministry on Mehran Gate scandal, Wednesday.

Chief Justice Iftikhar Muhammad Chaudhry termed that there is no threat to democracy in Pakistan it is safe.

A three-member bench led by Chief Justice Iftikhar Muhammad Chaudhry and also comprising Justice Khilji Arif Hussain and Justice Tariq Parvez was hearing on Monday Air Marshal Muhammad Asghar Khan's petition on disbursement of funds among the politicians by the ISI.

As the proceeding resumed today, AG Irfan Qadir informed the court that Interior ministry report is based on the memories of Interior Minister Rehman Malik, The court rejected the evidences in the report saying that they are memories not the actual evidences therefore unacceptable.

The chief justice had said that an inquiry should be conducted by National Accountability Bureau (NAB) to find the missing reports.

Qadir informed the court that both ministries had been directed find the reports and present them in court.

NAB Deputy prosecutor, Mazhar Chaudhry told the court that he is collecting evidences against Younis Habib but since case has been years older so time is required to find out the details.

CJP replied that, Its amazing that government does not have any record whereas private people carries complete report.

The court also sealed the Investigation Bureau (IB) report of distributing 270 million.

Court summoned Interior Minister on the report of Intelligence Bureau (IB).

The hearing was then adjourned till May 10.

Earlier, The Supreme Court directed the top legal officer to hold meetings with secretaries interior and law and gather information on missing reports of commission investigating Mehran and Habib Bank scams.
