Five children lost lives as nurse’s strike continue

Nurses and paramedical staff continued to strike for the sixth consecutive day meanwhile five children have been died in NICH hospital, Karachi.

The Professional Nursing Association says it will continue with the protest until their demand for a pay increase is not met.

The nurses and paramedical staff are protesting against their job confirmations and stopped working in the hospitals across Sindh and Karachi.

Onthe other side Chief Minister Sindh, Syed Qaim Ali Shah, Thursday held the meeting of Sindh Health Department at C.M. House and discussed the issues and demands of Para-Medical staff particularly the nurses with perspective to financial implications.

Syed Qaim Ali Shah assured that the genuine problems of nurses will be solved immediately and the recommendations of ministerial committee will be upheld.

The statement said that the meeting was informed that the death of five children at JPMC due to strike of nurses is baseless as there was death of three Children there- one of those was suffering from Meningitis and was admitted in critical condition, while the other two children were on ventilation for the last few days and cause of death was not strike of nurses, and necessary enquiry has also been ordered.
