Federal Minister for Information and Broadcasting Dr. Firdous Ashiq Awan on Sunday underscored the need of integrated efforts for promoting education in the country. Addressing the annual prize distribution ceremony held under the auspices of private school association Sialkot here, she said that there was need for increasing literacy rate at gross roots level in the country. She said there were many ‘Speed Breakers’ like security, negative attitude of parents and lack of transport facility in the way of females students living particularly in far-flung area of the country to get education.
