Reports are that Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaad chief Imran Khan has backed out from the India Today Conclave which is being held in New Delhi.

A PTI leader, earlier released a statement confirming the cancellation of Khan's attendance at the event as a key note speaker. According to the statement Imran Khan said that he cannot even think about sharing a stage with Rushdie, who has the feelings of Muslims all around the world by writing a book called "The Satanic Verses" in 1988, which is banned in most of the Muslim countries in the world.

Khan expressed his regrets for not being able to attend the event, explaining that he received the program schedule last night and made his decision today, early morning.
