Gov’t bans sect and ethnic based organisations like ‘Ahle Sunnat Wal Jamat’, ‘Aman Committee’
The Government of Pakistan has imposed a ban on four religious organisations. These organisations are known for their sectarian activities in the country.
A notification was released to the authorities of all four provinces in this regard, including Gilgit and Baltistan governments.
Organisations included in the banned list are: Shia Talba Tanzeem, Ahle Sunnat Wal Jamat, formerly known as Sipah-e-Sahaba, and Karachi-based People’s Aman Committee, an enforcer wing of ruling Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) and Tehreek-e-Naujawan Ahle-Sunnat Gilgit.
According to BBC Urdu, this move came after the killing of 18 Shiites after being removed from their traveling bus by gun men dressed in military uniforms.
Malik, earlier claimed that suspects have been arrested regarding the Kohistan Massacre and said that a big scale operation in the area would help in bringing out and eradicating these extremist elements.
