On Thursday, March 8 the opposition leader Raja Riaz said while talking to the media out side the Punjab Assembly that Waheeda Shah did not slap Habiba Bukhari. She just pressed with her hand.

Out side the Punjab Assembly Raja Riaz said to the media that injustice was done to a widow, and the slapping incident was dramatized by media. The video was repeatedly played by media which made it look like Waheeda Shah slapped the staffer several times at the same moment. Media played a completely negative role in Waheeda Shah’s case.

In the response of opposition leader Raja Riaz’s statement Punjab Law minister Rana Sanaullah said that she does not hold any right to slap somebody because she is a widow. He also added that the decision which was taken by Election Commission of Pakistan against Waheeda Shah was “Just and appropriate”
