ECP reserves verdict on Waheeda Shah Case
The Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) has reserved the verdict of Waheeda Shah torture case and will announce it on Wednesday.
Chief Election Commissioner heard the case of Waheeda Shah, the PPP candidate for the by-poll to PS-53 Tando Muhammad Khan who is currently facing charges of slapping an assistant presiding officer and other Election Commission (EC) staff.
On Monday Waheeda Shah appeared before Returning Officer and said that the concerned polling officer has forgiven her as the incident was outcome of some misunderstanding. She also produced some documentary evidence in the case.
The Supreme Court has already taken suo moto notice of the incident. Shah was contesting for a seat of the provincial assembly that fell vacant after the death of her husband, Syed Mohsin Shah Bukhari.
