The victim, Habiba Memon, who is the assistant officer slapped by PPP candidate Waheeda Shah Bukhari for performing her duties in the recently held by-elections, has announced to pardon Waheeda Shah.

The Supreme Court earlier termed the incident worse than the Youth killing by the hands of Ranger in Karachi months ago. The incident took place last week during by-election at a polling station in Tando Mohammad Khan.

The victim Habiba Memon, gave a written statement to the Election Commission today, stating that she has decided to pardon Waheeda Shah.

While speaking to the media outside, she said that the PPP leader had earlier paid a visit at her residence, to offer an apology. Memon has now accepted the apology. She said that she did not take this decision under any pressure or any kind of compensation for accepting her apology.
