Electricity shortfall reaches 6000 MW

Seventeen powerhouses have reportedly stopped working due to lack of gas and fuel to produce electricity. This shortfall in fuel and gas supply has weakened the electricity by 6000 megawatts. AajNews reported.

Lahore alone among others faces load shedding for up to 20 hours daily. While PEPCO officials say that power generation is at 8,500MW.

Until the desired funds are released to the department, the HUB power plant and Kot Addu plant will work at half of their capacity, said the officials.
