Young Doctors end strike in Lahore
The Young doctors association on Friday announced to end the strike as three dismissed doctors were restored on their previous positions, Aaj news reported.
YDA President Dr Hamid Butt said that the Punjab government had decided to increase doctors' salary package and it would be announced by Punjab Chief Minister Mian Shahbaz Sharif in a few days.
He said that the government had accepted their demands of a handsome salary package, medical facility for doctors' families and security for doctors in public hospitals.
Earlier, The young doctors locked OPDs of all teaching hospitals in the city on the second day running on Thursday, denying treatment to the patients also at indoor departments. Some of the doctors armed themselves with clubs and iron rods.
The doctors had refused to attend emergency, indoor and outdoor patients as part of their strike, resulting in multiple casualties in different hospitals.
