“I will resign if convicted”: PM Gilani

Prime Minister Yusuf Raza Gilani said in an interview to an Arabic news channel, that if convicted he will resign as the Prime Minister of Pakistan.

This statement came forward in the light of the recent Contempt of court charges against PM Gilani.

"Charges against President Zardari are politically motivated" he said.

"The President enjoys full immunity inside the country and abroad" he added.

He confessed that his understanding of the OBL raid was that it was a combined effort of CIA and ISI because of which he termed it as a great victory.

The Supreme Court had rejected the Prime Minister's intra-court appeal recently.

He is yet to appear in front of the SC larger bench for charges of contempt of court regarding the Swiss letter case.
