Barrister Aitzaz Ahsan, counsel for the Prime Minister in contempt issue over NRO implementation case, on Wednesday said that he would appear before the larger bench to argue his intra court appeal, seeking suspension of proceedings, scheduled for February 13 for framing of charges.

Talking to mediamen here in the Supreme Court building, he said other available judges including Chief Justice Iftikhar Muhammad Chaudhry could take up his Intra Court Appeal and said that he would appear before the Chief Justice.

Aitzaz said that he did not appear before the bench of Chief Justice after his restoration in cases pertained to his clients but the instant issue was of different nature since he had appeared as counsel for the Prime Minister during preliminary hearing.

He said the lawyers leaders used to appear before the Chief Justice and even before the PCO judges but he restrained.

He expressed the optimism that he would be given a fair opportunity to present his contentions before the larger bench.
