Makers of substandard cardiac drugs with caused deaths of 37 patients in Lahore trialed in court on Tuesday.

Earlier, Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) has arrested two of the three owners of pharmaceutical companies manufacturing spurious drugs that caused the deaths of several patients in Lahore.

As per directive of Minister for Interior Rehman Malik, FIA Lahore is conducting raids to arrest those owners of pharmaceutical companies and Government officials involved in the crime, said a press release received here on Monday.

To take stern action against the sellers of spurious drugs Interior Minister Rehman Malik has formed a Joint Investigation Team headed by Director FIA Lahore Waqar Hameed to probe the matter.
The cases have been registered against the owners of  Mega Pharmaceutical Company Raiwand, Alflah Pharmaceutical Company Sheikhupura and Pharma Wise Pharmaceutical Company TownShip Lahore.
Stern action would be taken against the people involved in the crime, the press release said.
