Federal Interior Minister, A Rehman Malik on Wednesday assured the Senate that former President Gen (Retd) would be arrested under the law of the land when he arrives in Pakistan.

"The moment, he (Musharraf) lands, he will go to jail," he said while responding to a number of points of order raised by the members in which they demanded action against the former dictator under Article 6 for violating the Constitution.

Rehman Malik said that three cases were already registered against Gen (Retd) Musharraf and he would automatically be arrested.

He, however, proposed that the house may pass a resolution against him as he violated the Constitution by imposing martial law on October 12, 1999 and emergency on November 3, 2007.

He also appealed the chief justice to take a suo moto action against the former dictator for arresting judges after imposing emergency in the country.
