SC rejects NAB appeal against Sharif’s property
The Supreme Court on Wednesday rejected the appeal of National Accountability Bureau (NAB) against assests of Sharif family.
A three-member bench of the Supreme Court headed by Chief Justice Iftikhar Muhammad Chaudhry heared 17 appeals filed by National Accountability Bureau (NAB) against Sharif family today, and ordered to release all their assets.
The court told that Nawaz Sharif’s punishment is over and, therefore, NAB has no right to seize Sharif brothers’ property. The court maintained the decision of Lahore high court.
In December 2011, NAB had appealed in the apex court to challenge the Lahore High Court’s (LHC) October 4, 2011 verdict for returning their assets.
