PPP stresses unity to ensure Parliament's supremacy

Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) leaders here on Wednesday underlined the need to forge unity among political forces to ensure supremacy of the Parliament.

In a brief talk with media after holding meeting with Chief of Jamiat Ulema-i-Islam (JUI-F) Maulana Fazl-ur-Rehman here, Minister for Religious Affairs Syed Khursheed Ahmed Shah and former minister Raja Pervez Ashraf said that PPP does not want confrontation among national institutions.

Replying to a question, Khursheed Ahmed Shah said that Yusuf Raza Gilani is a unanimously elected Prime Minister and according to the Constitution he (the prime minister) does not need to take vote of confidence from the National Assembly now.

Commenting on the meeting with Maulana Fazl-ur-Rehman, Raja Pervez Ashraf termed it a routine meeting.
