It's time to work with Salman: Farah

Farah Khan on Monday turned 47. But choreographer-turned-director-turned-actor has no special plans to bring in her birthday. “Everyone’s reminding me that I am turning old,” she laughs. “But I am shooting (for Shirin Farhad Ki Nikal Padi) on my birthday too. And as everyone knows,I just had a big housewarming party. So, I will chill on my birthday or have a small dinner for family.”

The Om Shanti Om (2007) actor insists she’s not really a party person. “So, my quota of bashes for the next two years is full with this housewarming do,” says Farah, who makes her acting debut with Bela Segal’s Shirin Farhad Ki Nikal Padi (SFKNP), produced by Sanjay Leela Bhansali.

“Honestly, it’s very different for me to be on the other side of the camera. Although it’s a part of the same field, acting is at the other end of the spectrum. So, it’s a bit scary too,” she says.

But what Farah is equally excited about this year is her next directorial venture after the Tees Maar Khan (2010). “Yes, I am itching to direct now. Exactly which month it will kick off is not decided, but this year I will surely start my new film,” she confirms.

Shirin Farhad wraps up by February in a 40-45 day schedule. “Post that, I will start work on my film. The script is done. Now it’s about putting things together and starting processes like casting etc,” she says.

So, are Salman Khan and Deepika Padukone on for her film? “No, that was a completely false story. As for Salman, we have always shared a good rapport. So, you never know. Personally, I feel it’s time (we work together). But I haven’t spoken to anyone yet,” says Farah, who has worked with Salman’s ‘frenemy’ Shah Rukh Khan in hits like Main Hoon Na (2004) and Om Shanti Om.
