Memo commission issues notices to Haqqani, others

A meeting of the judicial commission to investigate the memogate scandal was adjourned till January 9 on Monday.

The meeting was underway in Islamabad high court today.

The commission issued summon to Pakistan’s former ambassador to the US Hussain Haqqani, American businessman Mansoor Ijaz, DG ISI General Ahmed Shuja pasha, General James Jones and others.

It is pertinent to mention that that Haqqani was absent from today’s open hearing held at Islamabad High Court (IHC)

The commission is headed by Chief Justice of the Balochistan High Court Qazi Faez Issa and includes the Islamabad High Court Chief Justice Iqbal Hameed and Sindh High Court Chief Justice Musheer Alam as its members.

Moreover, the commission’s secretary Jawad Abbas stated that an open court inquiry would be carried out into the memo affair.
