No control over army/ISI operation: Defence minstry
In a recent submission to the Supreme Court in the memogate case, the Defence Ministry said that it was not in a position to give reply on behalf of either security agency.
According to sources, the ministry went on to say that this was because the government oversaw administrative matters in both institutions.
Thus, the ministry was not in a position to answer or explain anything on the behalf of Pakistan Army, they added quoting the rejoinder.
It is pertinent to mention here that Supreme Court of Pakistan had ordered Ministry of Defence to submit a written reply on the same.
Meanwhile ISI chief, Gen Shuja Pasha in his reply to Supreme Court on the memo issue has reaffirmed his earlier stance.
