Fog cover enveloped many parts of Punjab and khyber pakhtunkhwa, disrupted flights and caused closure of motorways on  Wednesday.

According to motorway sources, the motorway was closed from Thokar Niaz Baig to Pindi Bhattian Interchange due to zero visibility at 7.30 am.

The Met Office reported shallow fog on the motorway from Peshawar to Swabi, and in some Punjab cities like Lahore, Sialkot, Gujranwala, Kasoor, Rawalpindi, Gujrat, Khaniwal and Sahiwal during the early hours of wednesday.

The PIA flights from Karachi to Lahore was landed in Sialkot due to heavy fog.

The motorway authorities have issued special instructions for the drivers asking them to keep the headlights on and avoiding change in lane along with speed control.
