Ankara: Nawaz meets Turkish President Gul
Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) chief Mian Nawaz Sharif Tuesday called on Turkish President Abdullah Gul and expressed his condolences over earthquake losses in Turkey.
Nawaz Sharif assured the president that people of Pakistan would always stand by their brothers of Turkey in their time of distress and they shared the grief of those affected by the quake. He said his party would not leave alone the Turkish people at this testing time and would send assistance for affectees.
Both the leaders also discussed matters relating to mutual interests of both the countries. Nawaz Sharif also invited the Turkish traders’ community to invest their capital in Pakistan for enhancing business activities between the two countries.
Nawaz said that all out assistance would be provided to the earthquake victims of Turkey.
Sharif urged Turkey to explorae the great investment opportunities in Pakistan in the fields of power, energy, communication, and agriculture. Thanking Nawaz Sharif, Abdullah Gul welcomed Pakistani nation’s emotions for the victims of the earthquake in Turkey.
Earlier, Nawaz met with Governor of Ankara. The former prime minister is in Turkey on a seven-day official visit to the brotherly country.
He was jointly invited by Turkish President Abdullah Gul and Prime Minister Tayyip Erdogan. During his stay there, he will be holding talks with Turkish leadership and will interact with the business community, political leaders of all shades, scholars and intellectuals.
