Students protest turn violent in Punjab
Intermediate students Saturday continued to protest in various cities of Punjab against inaccuracies in computerized results issued by Intermediate boards of Gujranwala, Lahore and Faisalabad.
Angry students in Gujranwala broke the board office’s entrance door and damaged the office. The students were annoyed over wrong results that were published online.
Similarly, students protested against the board management in Faisalabad too and held the errors in computerized results as deplorable.
According to sources, the first year students were protesting against wrong results that were published on the internet.
The online system of Gujranwala Board of Intermediate Education had problems that resulted in publishing wrong results. Due to which the students attacked the board office and blocked Sialkot road.
Police resorted to baton charge that agitated the students and as a result students locked the board office staff and burnt the record.
The protest is still continuing in Gujranwala, Lahore, Multan and Faisalabad.
On the other hand, Police did aerial firing to disperse the protesters and arrested 13 students.
