Railway employees continue to protest, halt trains
The schedule of Pakistan Railway trains for Lahore, Rawalpindi, Faisalabad, Multan, Quetta and other cities remained disrupted for the second consecutive day due to the protest staged by railways employees throughout the country against non-payment of salaries.
The employees due to the non-payment of salaries jammed the wheel of railways at Lahore; meanwhile the laborers of engine lay down on the tracks and stopped the trains to enter into the stations and raised slogans against the officials of Pakistan railways.
The union of railway laborers, due to non-payment of salaries took control of the engine shed; meanwhile the protesters stand in the engine shed to stop them and some of them ride on the engine and announce until the payment of salaries the protest continue.
Due to the protest, the trains from Lahore to different cities of Pakistan could not depart in time due to which the disturbance created for the passengers.
On the other hand, the employees of Multan and Faisalabad staged protests against the electricity cut off and stopped the trains entering in the railway stations.
The employees of Multan also staged protest against the disconnection of electricity in front of the divisional office; meanwhile the protestors said that the bills for electricity were deducted from their salaries and the railway department cannot pay the bill to PEPCO.
