Nawaz spreading hopelessness in public, says Awan

Former federal minister Senator Babar Awan on Tuesday said that Pakistan Muslim League – Nawaz (PML-N) chief Nawaz Sharif should not issue statements that demoralise the people of Pakistan.

He moreover said that on Monday, workers of the provincial government in Punjab caused damage to properties belonging to the federal government.

Speaking to lawyers and media representatives in Karachi, Mr Awan said that people did not take out processions over the dengue epidemic and no property was harmed during those protests.

He moreover said that a committee would be constituted to implement the recommendations of the All Parties Conference (APC).

In an answer to a question, Mr Awan said that Karachi sou moto notice was not meant to compete with other political parties it was a solution of Karachi problems.

Earlier on Monday, Mr Sharif called upon his party workers to join the agitation against power outages and to mobilise the street in order to highlight corruption and the government’s “failure to resolve the energy crisis”.
