Renowned Ghazal singer from Pakistan, Ghulam Ali has been constantly praying for his friend, Indian ghazal maestro Jagjit Singh, who underwent dual life-saving surgeries for brain heamorrhage last Friday.

Ali and Singh were scheduled to perform at a show in Mumbai, Friday morning, but the Indian veteran singer had to be admitted to Lilavati hospital following brain haemorrhage. So the veteran singer from across the border had to enthrall the audiences all alone.

Ali said, “I was so tense. Irrespective of which country we belong to, our creativity binds us together. I’ve been on the phone with doctors every two hours and finally I’m told he’s stable. I remember him in my namaaz (prayers) everyday. Insha-Allah, woh jaldi theek ho jayenge (God willing, he should be fine soon).”
