Mohajir Qaumi Movement (MQM-H) Chairman Afaq Ahmed was detained under MPO for another month shortly on Wednesday.

According to the notification of the Sindh home department Afaq Ahmad will remain in prison for one more month. Earlier the Sindh High Court had ordered the release of Ahmad on bail in the Atiq-ur-Rehman murder case. This was the last case against the MQM-H chairman.

He was expected to be released from the jail on Wednesday after seven years of his detention. MQM-H supporters, who had gathered outside the Malir District Jail, expecting Ahmed’s release started protesting and blocked the National Highway.
