Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM) Chief Altaf Hussain has withdrawn from his statement against chief of Awami National Party (ANP) Asfandyar Wali, adding that he wants to end political tension in the country.

The MQM leader also excused saying that he has no evidence to claim his allegation.

He said that his statement hurt feelings of many ANP leaders as well as party workers, so he is taking his words back.

The MQM issued a declaration which stated that Altaf Hussain has apologised to the ANP and its chief Asfand Yar Wali Khan.

Altaf had earlier claimed that the US had paid Asfandyar Wali Khan millions of dollars to win the last general elections.
