Eid ul Fitr celebrations continue

An entire month of fasting during Ramzan was followed by a day of feasting and festivities in the country. Eid ul-Fitr was observed on Wednesday. While in the run-up to Eid, people were seen shopping for new clothes, attar, caps and accessories, the big day  began on a solemn note with prayers in the entire country.

People dressed in crisp white kurta-pajamas flocked to mosques in the morning, offering namaaz. After prayers, they were seen distributing the traditional 'fitra', a special token, among the poor; distributing 'fitra' is mandatory during Eid ul-Fitr.

The true essence of Eid lies in spreading joy and good cheer, so we should ensure that on this day everyone gets to eat well, celebrate the occasion and be happy.

Thousands of Muslims celebrated Eid on Wednesday with joy and religious fervour across Pakistan.
