Karachi completely deserted on MQM’s ‘Day of Mourning’
Karachi faced a complete shutdown on Tuesday as traders, transporters and fuel station owners decided to keep their regular operations closed after the Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM) announced that a ‘day of mourning’ would be observed against the ongoing wave of violence that has claimed nearly 100 lives in less than a week.
Following MQM’s announcement, all local traders announced to keep all business centers and markets closed while the transporters also announced to keep all transport shut.
All roads of the metropolitan were deserted and traffic was very less than the routine while public transport was completely missing from the entire city while all small and big trade centers and markets were closed.
At the other side, most shops in other cities including Hyderabad, Sukkur, Sanghar, Mirpur Khas, Khairpur and Nawab Shah were also shut.
