Sardar Yaqoob elected as new AJK president
Sardar Yaqoob Khan elected as the new president for Azad Kashmir (AK) here Today.
Pakistan Peoples’ Party (PPP) nominated former AJK Prime Minister Sardar Yaqoob Khan for the president. while Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) nominated Khan Bahadur Khan.
Sardar Yaqood got 40 votes. While Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) memeber Khan Bahadur Khan got 11 votes.
According to the sources, Chaudhry Yaseen Qamar uz zaman, Chaudhry Parveez Ashraf and Azhar Gillani will be the ministers.
The cabinet will take oath on 1st august.
As per the schedule released by the Election Commission, members of Legislative Assembly (LA) participated in secret balloting in an LA chamber from 11 am to 2 pm on Friday.
Sardar Yaqub Khan had been a member of LA in 2001 and 2006 while in 2001, he also served as the health minister in Sardar Sikandar Hayat’s cabinet.
Haji Yaqoob Khan joined the PPP before recent elections.
