Chaudhry Abdul Majeed has elected as the eleventh prime minister of Azad Jammu and Kashmir (AJK) here on Tuesday.

The members of the assembly elected the new leader of the house by balloting. Chaudhry Abdul Majeed of PPP got 35 votes while Raja Farooq Haider Khan from PML-N got 11 votes.

PPP remained dominant in the assembly which favoured in the election of Abdul Majeed as the prime minister.

PPP has also announced Chaudhry Yasin as a senior minister.

Earlier, 46 elected members of the legislative assembly took the oath in the session chaired by outgoing speaker Choudhary Anwar-ul-Haq.
