Sailors freed from Somali pirates reach Karachi
The 22 merchant navy sailors of MV Suez freed from the Somali pirates on Thursday reached Karachi board PNS Zulfiqar.
Freed merchant navy sailors remained in captivity of Somali pirates for about 10 months. Sindh Governor, Dr. Ishrat-ul-Ebad Khan, greeted the freed merchant navy sailors. The Pakistani sailors met their family members after a period of 10 months.
Freed merchant navy sailors include four Pakistanis. The others are six Indians, one Sri Lankan and 11 Egyptian sailors.
Four Pakistanis include Ship Captain Wasi Hasan, Engineer Syed Alam, Chief Officer Ali Rehman and diesel mechanic Muzzammil.
